Here's a look at the best new San Diego restaurants, corporate event venues, hotels, conference centers, and private and party rooms to open for events this winter. These new and renovated San Diego venues can accommodate groups large or small for private and corporate events, conferences, meetings, weddings, business dinners, teambuilding activities, cocktail parties, and more.

In August, Cohn Restaurant Group added Coasterra to its growing rosters of eateries. The 28,000-foot harborfront restaurant boasts views of downtown San Diego and seats 90 in the dining room plus an additional 45 people in the adjacent bar area. Sleek lines and modern decor define the venue, which includes a ballroom and event patio that combined seat 500 seated guests. There’s additional outdoor seating for 180 seats.

The Lot, which combines fine dining with a cinema, opened in a 20,000-square-foot space in La Jolla in September. The progressive American restaurant seats 90 guest with indoor and outdoor options overlooking the street. Seven theaters each seat about 60 people. The facility is available for corporate meetings and entertaining.

A recent multimillion-dollar renovation of the Top at the Hyatt at downtown’s Manchester Grant Hyatt San Diego unveiled an upgraded space for meetings and parties. The 2,700-square-foot space refreshed by Forrest Perkins is located 40 floors above the street and offers 360-degree views of the bay with lounge seating for 150 people.

Blush Ice Bar & East-West Kitchen is an upscale venue in the Gaslamp district. Opened in August, the 7,000-square-foot Asian-fusion restaurant features a light-filled entrance, communal tables, and two bar areas. It seats 180 guests.

Point Loma’s historic Liberty Station has been home to Soda & Swine since August. This modernly appointed 4,700-square-foot restaurant specializes in meatballs, and its decor features several communal tables including a covert pinball machine. It holds 115 people: 75 indoor and 40 outdoors.

Colorful murals decorate Galaxy Taco, a Mexican restaurant in La Jolla that opened in July. Two dining areas, a combo of indoor and outdoor tables, and a bar complete the 4,200-square-foot space; it seats 160 guests.

A branch of the Los Angeles eatery Café Gratitude opened in July in Little Italy. The restaurant, which serves a plant-based menu, covers 4,000 square feet and has indoor and outdoor seating for about 120 guests.

The sports bar and restaurant the Yard House San Diego Mission Valley opened in September in the middle of Mission Valley Mall. It features local and international beers on tap served alongside updated American fare such as chicken lettuce wraps, kale Caesar salads, and a selection of burgers. The 11,000-square-foot restaurant seats 580 guests.

Copa Vida’s downtown location adjacent to Petco Park features sleek modern lines and warm woods highlighted by unfiltered sunlight. Open since October, the coffee shop is 2,800 square feet and seats 60 inside and on the patio.

Opened in September, Crazy Goose Bar & Lounge has plenty of elbow room. The downtown restaurant serves regional American comfort food and has 8,000 square feet and seats 300 guests. The space also features two bars and more than 30 TV screens spread through the restaurant, including the private back room adjacent to the kitchen.
