Ten, Eleven...
Luxury is the goal at Twelve Hotel & Residences (404.961.1212), a new boutique hotel brand operated by the Novare Group. Open since February, Twelve features 101 one- and two-bedroom suites, all with full-size kitchens, and separate sleeping and living areas, floor-to-ceiling windows, and plasma TVs. The hotel allows visitors to voice their needs—from extra pillows to a midnight snack—via a flat-screen monitor and keyboard in the rooms. Meetings and events can take place in the 6,000-square-foot ballroom that holds 600, a prefunction space that can accommodate 250, or two terraces that hold a total of 350. Atlantic Station devotees are buzzing about Lobby at Twelve (404.961.7370), a 5,000-square-foot restaurant-lounge divided into two intimate rooms by an open-air kitchen that serves a menu of modern American cuisine. The U-shaped bar with a dozen stools wraps around the kitchen.

The Dolce Group (323.460.6155) is bringing its celebrity-associated buzz to Atlanta with its Dolce and Geisha House venues, in addition to Ten Pin Alley, a new format that’s aiming to make bowling cool. Backed by That '70s Show alums Ashton Kutcher, Wilmer Valderrama, and Danny Masterson, the three venues are likely to be the main attractions of Atlantic Station when they open later this fall. Dolce is a 12,000-square-foot Northern Italian fine dining restaurant with a large bar area and several private rooms. Ten Pin Alley is taking over the two levels (totaling 15,000 square feet) directly above Dolce, and will be an adult playground complete with pool tables and roughly 30 plasma TVs and oversize screens. Geisha House is a 10,000 square-foot bilevel space with a sushi bar on the main floor, and an Asian-inspired lounge on the second floor.
Surf n’ Turf
Well-known Atlanta chef Tom Catherall, owner of Here to Serve Restaurants, launched his seventh venue, Strip Steak & Sushi (404.385.2005), in February. Offering 13,000 square feet of dining and nightlife space, Strip is a trilevel venue complete with two rooftop spaces, a private room, and a raised outdoor patio—with a total capacity of 800. The venue serves a menu of salads, sandwiches, and steaks on the main floor, while sushi chefs drum up rolls and sashimi on the second level. An in-house DJ plays hip-hop and 80’s music nightly, and bottle service is available at V.I.P. tables on the second level. Both rooftops can be rented out for private events, and heat lamps are provided during chilly months.
Spicing It Up
New York’s quickly expanding restaurant chain Rosa Mexicano (404.347.4090) has branched into Atlanta, bringing its upscale Mexican cuisine and trademark roving guacamole cart. The 200-seat dining room, decorated in Rosa Mexicano’s signature pink, purple, and red, features an 18-foot water wall, complete with 200 mini diver statuettes. The bar area has a capacity of 40 and serves six takes on the margarita, including “La Margarita Macha,” made with apple juice. The venue also has a 55-seat outdoor patio and a private dining room that can accommodate 50.
