
The 341-room Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center recently wrapped up a multimillion-dollar redevelopment that added 3,600 square feet of meeting space to the lobby level. The two new meeting rooms each have floor-to-ceiling windows and bring the hotel’s total event space to 18,400 square feet.

The newest luxury hotel in town, the 127-room Mandarin Oriental Atlanta opened in May. The hotel’s second floor has six meeting venues with a total of 6,500 square feet. The largest, the Oriental ballroom, holds 200. Two boardrooms can accommodate 95 each, depending on configuration. Also on site: a 15,000-square-foot spa.

A new Marriott property opened in Decatur in February 2012 near Emory University, AT&T headquarters, and Stone Mountain Park. Courtyard Atlanta Decatur Downtown/Emory has some 15,000 square feet of meeting space that includes a ballroom seating 800. There is also a three-room presidential suite that includes an eight-seat boardroom.

The Atlanta Airport Marriott recently renovated its 28,300 square feet of meeting space, including the 9,928-square-foot grand ballroom and 27 breakout rooms. All guest rooms now have LCD TVs that can be used as computer monitors.

One of the ritziest local properties, the JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead recently completed a $12 million renovation that overhauled its 37 guestrooms and added 2,300 square feet of meeting space adjacent to the on-site restaurant, Nox Creek Southern Grill. Meeting space capacity now totals more than 22,000 square feet.
