
A two-story glass-walled space with skyline views, the midtown bistro Olmstead opened in September. The menu offers daily fresh-caught fish and upscale takes on classic sandwiches. Options for private and semiprivate events include audiovisual and branding capabilities, with seating for as many as 350.

Top Chef All-Stars winner Richard Blais’s new eatery the Spence opened in May, serving a daily changing, seasonal menu. Lacquered white brick, navy repurposed wood, and zinc and pine tabletops fill the space. Several communal tables are designated for groups; the entire dining room is available for buyout.

Downtown spot White Oak Kitchen and Cocktails opened in July with Southern cuisine and a distillery-inspired decor. The Distillery dining room, designed to resemble the inside of a whiskey barrel, has burnt cedar plank walls and mahogany beamed ceilings. It seats 80. Two smaller rooms seat 30 each; a reception area holds 100.

Breezy west midtown seafood restaurant the Optimist opened in May, with a brick-lined dining room and full-length windows. The adjacent oyster bar offers an array of bivalves prepared in a wood-fired oven; a light-filled private room seats 60.

Open in South Buckhead since January 2012, Fig Jam Kitchen and Bar serves a modern American menu. The restaurant’s focal point is a glass case displaying cured meats; a private dining room is available.

Opened in January 2012, Cardamom Hill in west midtown has a menu focused on the relatively unknown cuisine of southern India’s Kerala region. The main dining room seats 48; there is also a 12-seat private dining area.

The sleek, two-story STK steak house opened in December 2011. Leather banquettes, dramatic lighting, a black granite bar, and a DJ booth accent the 200-seat dining room, which is available for buyouts. Two private rooms seat 15 and 30 or can be combined to seat 70.

Open in midtown since July, seafood restaurant Lure is set in a 1920s-era bungalow. A private dining room seats 55, and a patio seats 60. The entire restaurant space is available for buyout and seats as many as 170.
