* INCOMING *

1. MARATHON MARKETERS: The ING N.Y.C. Marathon continues to draw big-name sponsors. Race director Mary Wittenberg talks to the Big Lead about partnership renewals and new deals: "No question that partners target the Marathon and see it as a great launching pad for campaigns, products and services. We are some combination of the Super Bowl and the Olympics here in New York. But with the worldwide platform, what is so interesting is that, like those major properties, not only do we have official partners using the Marathon to launch campaigns and products, but the whole industry is here. Motorola, for example, is launching Moto ACTV [an MP3 player that connects with smartphones to become a fitness tool and music player]. Asics has a new campaign. This is the place to be and a place to attract attention."
