1. FLAPPER CHIC AT 'GATSBY' PREMIERE PARTY: The after-party following the premiere of The Great Gatsby in New York had a decadent theme befitting its location at the Plaza hotel in New York. 2. CONCERT TICKETS INITIATIVE PROMOTES SOCIAL ACTIVISM: Seven festivals and 60 musicians have agreed to donate two tickets to each of their concerts to the Global Citizen Tickets Initiative. The program encourages social activism with the incentive of free concert tickets that are earned through a points system. 3. LOWE'S DEBUTS VINE CAMPAIGN: What can you learn about home improvement in six seconds? Lowe's is using the new social media app Vine in a new campaign, offering videos on topics such as how to remove a stripped screw and how to organize sheets. Ad Age: "I wouldn't say it's great for every marketer," said Wil Boudreau, executive creative director at BBDO, New York, Lowe's agency. ORLANDO:  Mandy's Pastry Shoppe is a new bakery set to open Monday downtown. The menu will include baked goods and traditional English-style meat pies for lunch.

Universal Orlando will open its newest attraction, Transformers: The Ride—3D, on June 20. The park has also launched a "Join the Resistance" Facebook experience to prepare fans for the ride.

The Alfond Inn will open in August in Winter Park. The 112-room hotel, owned by Rollins College, will have 10,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and a 10,000-square-foot garden for outdoor events.
