STINK BUGS INFEST BURNING MAN: Staff and volunteers setting up for the Burning Man festival in Nevada have reported an infestation of bugs at the desert venue, posting in a blog that “they’re everywhere.” They are working with health officials to identify the bugs and deal with the critters. Reno Gazette-Journal: “Although there have been reports of Burners being bitten by the unwelcome guests, it does not appear that they pose any kind of health risk to the more than 70,000 people that will be showing up Aug. 30 through Sept. 7. … None of the bugs has identified so far are bloodsuckers, which should be a consolation to Burners, although no official identifications have been made as of yet.” http://usat.ly/1WJ470P
2. WHY GOOGLE LAUNCHED A FOOD TRUCK: To promote the new Google Photos service, the search giant is offering free treats from a tricked out food truck. Los Angeles Times: "The catch? You have to pay with a photo. The Google Photos food truck is scheduled to roll into Los Angeles on Friday, with ice cream sandwiches from Coolhaus. If you want to score a free ice cream sandwich, have one of the truck employees give you a search term.
