Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises' El Segundo Sol Taqueria and Margarita Bar officially opened on March 18 with a Strip-side takeaway taco shack called Street Taco and a private tequila tasting room. The venue, at Fashion Show Mall across from the Wynn, serves signature tacos and Mexican fare.
The interior of El Segundo Sol is bright and colorful, with servers in Mexican guayabera shirts. It offers 10 varieties of tacos, including chicken, lobster, slow-braised beef short rib, and vegetarian, and makes about 3,000 tortillas from scratch daily. A tableside cart offers fresh guacamole. A casual lunch menu offers comfort foods like huevos rancheros and a green chili burger. Chef Terry Lynch helms the kitchen.
The Street Taco shack in front of the restaurant serves into the late-night hours. It makes use of reclaimed wood and has a corrugated roof and stools overlooking the Strip.
El Segundo Sol's tequila tasting room has room for 14 guests for private dining and tasting flights. The space offers close to 100 varieties of tequila. The whole restaurant is available for buyout with room for 300.
