WWD to CFDA: "Fire the Scriptwriters"

Women's Wear Daily had some choice words for Monday's Council of Fashion Designers of America awards. "It wasn't the heat, the less-than-stellar wine, or the overpowering steak au poivre that wore the audience down. Instead, it was the lackluster jokes rattling down the teleprompter that were often as flat as a blown-out tire," says today's paper, which also cites presenters Heidi Klum and Catherine Deneuve's poor skills at reading the teleprompter, and Sean Combs' mangling the name of sponsor Swarovski.
