On March 15, Tampa Bay's Florida Blood Services Foundation hosted its annual Gift of Life Gala at the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater. Employing the Mad Hatter's Ball theme for the third year, F.B.S. event planner Marla Grant reported Alice's wonderland was so well received, once again, that the organization is considering using the theme next year as well. Though this year's theme was the same as before, new entertainment element was added: the Queen of Hearts' Wii Game Court. Here guests purchased tickets for the chance to compete against one another on the popular video gaming system. In the end, the event raised approximately $130,000 for the foundation.
