The N.B.A. playoffs get under way Saturday and continue for the next several weeks. Here's a look at two game-watching venues with ample TVs (and beer).
1. Houston-based Brick House Tavern and Tap opened its first Orlando location in January on International Drive. The restaurant has nearly 7,500 square feet inside and another 1,800 outside, with 32 TVs throughout the space. True to its promise of offering “man cave essentials,” the restaurant has a section with eight leather recliners in front of wide-screen plasma TVs. The chairs even have cup holders and TV trays. An all-female waitstaff serves comfort food, such as meat loaf sliders and the Big Boy Prime Rib Sandwich, along with more than 70 types of beer. The restaurant has seating for 328, and groups of six or more can make reservations. Ask about free appetizers and Brick House koozies for large groups.
2. World of Beer opened in the Dr. Phillips area in December. The name is not an exaggeration: Customers can choose from more than 500 beers from around the world, including nearly 40 on tap. The venue has 3,500 square feet inside and 1,200 more on a wraparound patio overlooking Sand Lake Road. With 24 TVs inside and another five outside, everyone in your group can view the hardwood action. World of Beer does not have a kitchen, but several restaurants in the area will deliver food with no delivery fee. Customers are also welcome to bring in their own food.
