Inside, the Abbey has dark, modern gothic decor including additional wrought iron and a black and red checkerboard floor. The space has two distinct areas: a bar and lounge to the left and a stage and seating area (which doubles as a dance floor) to the right. Total capacity is 367.
The long bar, with seating for 15, has a subtle glow from lights mounted underneath the poured resin top. The adjacent lounge has several black love seats, chairs, and sofas, and a large faux fireplace. The dark decor is offset by a striking stained-glass light fixture suspended from the ceiling that alternates between shades of red and blue. Management said it is modeled after stained glass in London’s Westminster Abbey, the venue’s namesake. There are two TVs at the bar and one in the lounge.
The right half of the venue is ideal for dinner parties or presentations. A 1,200-square-foot hardwood floor can accommodate seating for 175. It can also be used as a dance floor. The elevated stage is equipped with extensive lighting and sound equipment, as well as a large screen.
The Abbey shares a catering kitchen with the Mezz, on the second floor. The Florida Theatrical Association has a video production staff, and Webcasting capabilities are available for use by private groups.
