The decor has an upscale, contemporary Asian feel, with dark wood furniture complemented by red, gold, and cream accents. Seating is available at four-top tables, large semicircular booths, and a sushi bar. A notable feature in the bar area: fiber-optic color-changing lights embedded in the long concrete bar and high-top tables.
The menu is similar to what was offered at the former location, with a large selection of sushi, but the new location added a robata grill, a Japanese grill that heats up to 1,000 degrees and is used to quickly cook meat and vegetables on skewers.
The new RanGetsu is a joint venture of the owners of the former location (a Japanese family that has operated the original RanGetsu in Tokyo since 1947) and a new partner. The company intends to open additional locations around Florida in the coming years.
