In the former space of Le Marais 2 (and just steps from ground zero) is Les Halles Downtown, the brand-new, more spacious branch of Brasserie Les Halles, the famed Park Avenue South steakhouse of chef-cum-author Anthony Bourdain. The remodeled space now features a classic French brasserie style with dark wood tables and chairs with matching dark brown leather banquettes along the walls, crisp white tablecloths, an intricate stamped tin ceiling, and a warm inviting atmosphere that owner Philippe Lajaunie hopes will draw everyone from Wall Street bond traders to tourists to construction workers. The mezzanine is an ideal space for a midday frites and Powerpoint meeting. --Suzanne Ito
