This weekend's Emmy festivities are getting a bit more crowded, with a new benefit on Saturday night before Sunday's awards. The Motion Picture & Television Fund will host the first "Evening Before" party (intended to imitate the fund's "Night Before" Academy Awards weekend party) in Century City in the park area between Avenue of the Stars and Century Park East, near Tom Colicchio's much-discussed new Craft restaurant. Sponsors include Variety, Target, and People, according to Variety, which cites Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson as cohosts and puts the guest list at 800.
A partial list of vendors on board includes Goodman Audio for sound design and equipment, Silver Birches for decor design, Daylight for lighting, Classic for rentals, and Wolfgang Puck for catering. Robyn Leuthe is the event's coordinator.
