1.PRESTON'S WEDDING: At midnight on Valentine's Day, Preston Bailey was married at a King Kong-themed wedding on the top floor of the Empire State Building. Joan Rivers officiated, Martha Stewart was an attendant, and the ceremony featured several surprises. People: "As guests turned around to see [Bailey], there appeared a 12-ft.-tall sculpture of a bridal gown that had been custom created by designer and guest Reem Acra. What looked to be Bailey dressed as a "bride" was in fact a body double – as evidenced when Bailey himself emerged from inside the sculpture, wearing a custom Reem Acra tuxedo." http://bit.ly/XaXsv3

2. TOP CLUBS: Nightclub & Bar released its Top 100, a revenue-based ranking of nightlife venues. Las Vegas venues nabbed 21 spots, including the top one with Marquee at fhe Cosmopolitan earning annual revenues in excess of $80 million. Press release: "Venues from other major markets including Southern California, Miami, New York City, Chicago, Dallas, and Washington, D.C., also made the cut. In addition, nightclubs and bars located in areas as varied as Pensacola, Fla. and Bloomington, Ill. also appear. While many clubs are making repeat appearances on the Top 100, several newer venues also qualified." http://bit.ly/YhzDmj

3. SUBWAY STYLE: Targeting influential bloggers, Cole Haan invited a group to a kickoff event for its #SubwayStyle marketing campaign during Fashion Week. "Twenty bloggers met at a subway station in Manhattan, where they received a MetroCard, as well as the Transit Museum's address. The bloggers were unaware of what awaited them, but were taken on a tour of the museum upon arrival. Cole Haan and Tumblr representatives encouraged attendees to tag their photos and mention Cole Haan on Twitter, promising that the top three posts would receive Cole Haan gift cards. But the museum's underground location meant there was absolutely no cell-phone reception. … Most of the hashtag traffic came from bloggers who tagged photos and tweets while traveling aboveground, or shortly after they left the event." http://on.mash.to/Yfo2Ek

4. CHANDELIER MOMENT: New York Times T Magazine: "Grand chandeliers fit for the palaces of French royalty softly lit designer’s visions setting a romantic ambiance. Jason Wu had his girls in gowns walk around his Phantom of the Opera-esque version; Tory Burch kept things posh at the Pierre for her uptown woman; and Ralph Lauren took a trip to Aspen via Moscow with his staghead candelabras." http://nyti.ms/12mjHFl

5. CONFERENCE SPEAKER SLAP: The Knight Foundation is apologizing for its choice of speaker at a recent conference: disgraced journalist Jonah Lehrer, who was paid $20,000 for the appearance. Daily Beast: While the foundation says it started considering Lehrer before his plagiarism scandal, it later decided "his tale would be 'poignant' at a decision-making conference.'" http://thebea.st/Zf57OY

6. WILD DETROIT: A Detroit City Council candidate wants to create a red-light district downtown, an idea politicians there have considered before. The idea is that "designating a zone for strip clubs could help attract tourism and give a jolt to the city's economy." HuffPo Business: http://huff.to/12GGdEp
