* INCOMING *
1. WHITE HOUSE QUIET ON WINE: As President Obama prepares to host a state dinner Wednesday night for British Prime Minister David Cameron, Bloomberg predicts the White House won't released details about the American wines paired with each course. "Part of a tradition observed by previous presidents...that disclosure stopped after Obama’s dinner last year for Chinese President Hu Jintao. One of the wines served on Jan. 19, 2011, was a top-rated 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington state that originally sold for $115 a bottle and went for as much as $399 by the time of the dinner. The price the White House paid per bottle was not made public."

Actually, make that "official dinner," not "state dinner," as the Reliable Source pointed out earlier in the week (state dinners are reserved for heads of state—Great Britain's is Queen Elizabeth):

2. MARKETING JEREMY LIN: The Washington Post looks at lessons marketers can learn from Lin's rise in popularity: "The most important lesson is that Lin-Sanity serves as a call to action for marketers and advertisers to evaluate their methods and understand that emotional attachment to brands still exists. Properly leveraging this notion can add significant return on investment, especially to products that have existed for a long time."

3. BUSINESS TRAVEL APPS: Mashable lists the three, must-have iPhone apps—Tripit for Business, GateGuru, and TurboScan.

4. P&G CUTS ADVERTISING COSTS: The Wall Street Journal: "The consumer products giant said last month that it aims to save $10 billion by 2016, cutting $1 billion from its marketing budget. [Marketing chief Marc] Pritchard says those cuts will come by thinning the ranks of marketing executives and spending more efficiently, leaning more heavily on lower-cost digital marketing and easing up somewhat on pricey broadcast ads."
