When Grey Goose challenged bartenders across the nation to mix up the tastiest signature cocktail using its vodka, more than 2,000 responded. The top four recipes were chosen, and Miami was chosen as one of the host cities to showcase the brand and the winners.
Condé Nast saluted the winning libations at a tasty event at Casa Casuarina, the former Versace mansion. Four bars were set up on the property—each dedicated to one of the winning recipes: the "Grey Goose Splash," "Bellini Martini," "Ginseng Fling," and "French Vanilla Swirl." Posters of the bartenders who created the drinks were displayed alongside the bars, which featured huge ice sculptures of inverted vodka bottles carved by Barton G, who also catered the event.
The event spilled over from the entranceway down the steps into the adjacent terrace, where event planning and public relations firm TARA Ink., had Gavin DeGraw perform a 30-minute set to entertain the crowd.
Decor was kept to a minimum with small tables, frosted candleholders etched with Grey Goose logos, and a gobo set against one of the mansion's walls, making it appear as if geese were flying across it.
Flavor Flav of Public Enemy and VH1's The Surreal Life fame, designer Cynthia Rowley, and Bradford Cohen from The Apprentice were among the celebrity guests at the event.
