New lounge Coda has taken over a two-story bank building from the 1940's. Playing up the space's original decor, the new Murray Hill venue has turned the bank's vault into a private lounge, with the five-foot thick steel door and silver security deposit boxes still in place. The vault and the first floor's industrial-looking lobby--with a 10-foot stainless steel bar--can hold 140 for cocktails. Upstairs a mezzanine and bar area opens up to a 15-foot by 15-foot stage area and holds 400. French baroque couches and chairs accent the space's original oak woodwork, marble floors and brass chandeliers. --Jill Musguire
