West Los Angeles’ elegant new organic eatery Wilshire Restaurant (2454 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, 310.586.1707) opened in September with lots of options for events. The bilevel space has two dining rooms, each with separate entrances, plus a small, glass-enclosed private room that seats 12, a large outdoor patio and bar with fireplaces and waterfalls, and a cigar lounge. Wilshire can be rented in whole or in part; the entire space seats 210. Designer Thomas Schoos (of L.A.’s Koi and O-Bar, and New York’s Tao) decked the main dining room in plush leather banquettes and candlelit antique mirrors. The indoor dining area has coffered ceilings, club chairs, and an amber bar. Chef and partner Christopher Blobaum—who once did a stint at the Pierre hotel in New York, and more recently was executive chef at Surf and Sand Resort and Spa in Laguna Beach—develops his menus using seasonal organic produce from farmer’s markets. —Alesandra Dubin
