BlueCat Puts a New Spin on Employee Appreciation

BlueCat Networks, a successful provider of network appliances, showed its festive spirit this holiday season by throwing a surprise staff appreciation party with a twist—a 360? twist. The company's 80 employees arrived at work the morning of the party to find a Christmas tree made entirely of stacked Microsoft Xbox 360 Pro gaming systems, one for each worker. The generosity didn't stop there. Brothers Michael and Richard Hyatt, BlueCat's founders, presented 10 more systems and an all-expenses-paid family vacation to Disney World to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charity that specializes in fulfilling the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. Julie Repic, Make-A-Wish's manager of wish granting, and Steven Presser, the organization's special events and marketing coordinator, attended the hour-long breakfast event.
