The Forge Abruptly Closes for Renovations

The Forge owner Shareef Malnik announced yesterday that the restaurant would close for renovations effective immediately. The announcement was made on the same day City of Miami Beach Mayor Matti Bower awarded Malnik a key to the city and declared it “The Forge 40th Anniversary Day.”

The Miami Beach landmark—originally opened in the 1920s and purchased by the Malniks in 1968—will be updated with redesigned decor and a new menu, including the addition of a menu for the Forge Bar located within the restaurant. The restaurant is scheduled to reopen in December.
