Redondo Beach’s Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club is undergoing an $11 million renovation on all 163 guest rooms and suites, the restaurant, public space, and marina, to be completed in late 2006. All meeting and event space will be renovated—including the Bayside and Pacific ballrooms, which have floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and eight banquet rooms. Glenn Bishop, general manager of the beachside property from 2000 through 2004, has returned to his general manager role at the hotel.
