Union Square Hospitality Group, Danny Meyer's company that operates more than a dozen eateries in New York, announced this morning that it plans to open a second location of Blue Smoke, a Shake Shack, and an as-yet-unnamed fine dining restaurant in Battery Park City next year. This expansion of the group will be located just north of the World Financial Center, in the growing neighborhood around North End Avenue, between Vesey and Murray Streets.
Meyer, who added a Shake Shack to the Theater District earlier this month, also has plans to open a new David Rockwell-designed café in the Whitney Museum of American Art, as well as outposts of his popular burger stand in Saratoga Springs and the Upper East Side.
