* INCOMING *
1. OBAMA'S TWITTER TOWN HALL: The president's Q&A session yesterday got mixed reviews, with some commentators suggesting it didn't truly take advantage of the medium. But most called the event a success for Obama's reelection campaign.
The Huffington Post's Jennifer Bendery: "President Barack Obama didn't say anything particularly newsworthy…But his hour-plus appearance before a social media savvy crowd and the company's founder did demonstrate a unique ability to not only circumvent traditional media but to enhance his political power in the process…Obama got major face time on cable news networks. CNN and MSNBC both cleared their dockets for roughly a full hour…The president picked up nearly 30,000 new followers at his campaign account, @barackobama, in the past day alone—putting him above nine million followers."

The New Republic's James Kotecki: "President Obama’s Twitter Town Hall was kind of lame…it still showed the White House has yet to fully embrace social media…as with previous social media interviews, the president spent most of his time giving standard responses to broadly worded questions…The White House, of course, must love these kinds of staged social media interviews. The president gets to appear transparent and innovative while remaining safely within traditional interview formats."

2. TNT'S RETAIL WINDOW TAKEOVER: AdWeek on the cable net's stunt for "Rizzoli & Isles": "To promote the popular show's second season, a new street-level display at 6th Avenue and 21st Street in Chelsea lets you peep into a crime scene and use a touch screen to crack the case. Don't have time to dawdle? Scan a QR code with your smartphone on the way by, and you can sort through the evidence later." Photos, too:

3. LAGERFELD'S LATEST: New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn: "For Chanel’s haute couture show [in Paris] Tuesday night, [Karl Lagerfeld] recreated the Place Vendôme inside the Grand Palais, tracing the facade in neon, and instead of Napoleon, he hoisted Coco Chanel up on the column."
"Personally, I’m beginning to think Mr. Lagerfeld might be the Woody Allen of couture. Most of the sets he concocts for Chanel, at crazy expense, are stereotypes, trinkets that have plopped off a souvenir charm bracelet. I can’t help grinning at his shtick, but I know he’s better than this." There's a neat picture though:

4. MORE FROM PARIS: WWD files from Valentino’s Château de Wideville on the outskirts of Paris for Natalia Vodianova’s White Fairy Tale Love Ball, which had "wintry, fantasy decor, tables strewn with snow and frosted candelabra."
