The An Catering family has opened a new restaurant in Santa Monica, known as Tiato. Helene An is the chef, and the restaurant bills its cuisine as "healthy new American with a twist of indulgence." Tiato serves breakfast, lunch, and happy hour, plus events and catering. There is beer, wine, and sake at the bar—with an emphasis on sustainable and organic offerings—as well as Asian tapas.
Tiato seats 200 inside the 2,414-square-foot cafe and 300 in the 4,300-square-foot patio garden. The venue has a total standing capacity of 500, and the bar fits 17. There is also a 240-square-foot private dining room for 14.
The lunch menu in the cafe includes soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees like dim sum boxes, grass-fed burgers, eggplant tofu, and Jidori chicken. For breakfast, there are fruits and field greens, grains and cakes, and egg dishes like huevos rancheros, chorizo or veggie burritos, plus a vegan scramble.
