MOCA's gala at the Geffen Contemporary for its Takashi Murakami exhibit may have been the art party of the year in Los Angeles, but for some guests, the rewards didn't end when the event did. The limited-edition place mats they received as gifts may end up being very lucrative items for sale on eBay, The Los Angeles Times reports. Versions of the item autographed by the artist (with bonus extras like a copy of the gala invitation) are going for close to $1,000 on the auction site. It wouldn't be the first time guests have seen financial opportunities in gifts and gift bags.
