Here's a look at 10 steal-worthy ideas we spotted this week.

This week's roundup includes a custom four-story cube that housed an event in Los Angeles, sweet oysters from chef Dominique Ansel in Miami, flowery appetizers, and the illusion of fashion models floating on water in New York.

Ted Baker hosted a pool party in winter for the launch of its spring/summer 2015 collection on February 25 in New York at the Aire Ancient Baths. A key image from the campaign is of models standing on water. To replicate that image, the producers installed a clear platform inside one of the pools. Desan Productions also brought in floral elements—matching the hues of the blooms to those in the clothing—and added butterflies made of feathers in a nod to spring and summer.

The French fashion brand Chloé invited V.I.P. clients on a treasure hunt to explore its new store in Miami's Bal Harbour Shops on January 21. A box marked "I" contained ice cream. The treat was a last-minute addition to the lineup, so producer Bombshell Productions fabricated a new box that could accommodate a layer of dry ice to keep the servings chilled.

To match the floral imagery in the campaign and the surreal feel to the event, caterer Creative Edge supplied a menu of small bites served with edible flowers, such as "mosaic of spring bloom canapes" that included crushed avocado, whipped white bean, Johnny-jump-ups, opal basil, and pansies.

Hanging Florals: Golden Globes
Hanging Florals: Golden Globes

One of the trends from this year's award season was hanging florals. Lush greenery spilled from chandeliers at Fox's Golden Globes party, held at the former Robinson's-May building on January 11.

Another award-season trend was orange decor. The Academy's Governors Ball featured table linens and carpeting in rustic orange hues to complement the historical Hollywood vibe, proving that orange might really be the new black.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay hosted its annual “Big Night” fund-raiser on February 7. Splashes of neon on the table numbers were part of the 1990s theme. Another decor element, red tulips, spruced up areas throughout the venue.

Cronut creator Dominique Ansel presented a new dish at the festival's Death by Chocolate dessert party: a chocolate “oyster” shell filled with milk chocolate cream, coconut gelée, and a pineapple “mignonette.” Ansel hosted the February 21 event poolside at the National Hotel in Miami.

Red Bull hosted its first “Red Bull at Night” activation February 21 on the Exchange Building rooftop in Los Angeles. Dubbed “The Circuitry of Life: A Journey Through the Evolution of Technology,” the evening's centerpiece was a multimedia experience created by Heather Shaw, C.E.O. of the multidisciplinary design firm Vita Motus. All Access Staging and Design built a custom four-story cube that housed the experience.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra hosted its "Remix: Red Hot" fund-raiser at the School of the Art Institute Ballroom on February 27. The event had a New Orleans-inspired theme, so servers greeted guests with a "Southern Punch" made with Tito's handmade vodka, Grand Marnier, pomegranate juice, orange juice, soda, cinnamon, and frozen berries. Food for Thought handled catering.
