10 New Miami Holiday Party Venues

Jana Schiowitz
November 9, 2011

With the holiday season coming up, these new and recently renovated bars, lounges, nightclubs, restaurants, private rooms, outdoor spaces, and more in and around Miami can accommodate corporate groups small and large for company holiday parties of every type.

1. The 4,000-square-foot music lounge Vibe, opening this month, comes from the owners who launched Yolo and O Lounge, Himmarshee Bar & Grill, and Side Bar. Available for private and corporate events, the Fort Lauderdale lounge can accommodate 300. The garden patio can also be used for an event.

2. Italian wine bar Cibo opened in Coral Gables in late October. The 8,000-square foot bar seats 200 and offers two private dining rooms with seating for 12 to 22 guests. The menu is casual with stone-oven pizzas and homemade pastas.

3. Dining and lounging can be found at Spin Ultra Lounge. The Boca Raton venue opened in September and boasts 4,500 square feet inside and an additional 1,634 square feet outside, all available for private and semi-private events. Features include an elevated stage, DJ booth, 10 screens, video projector, and an interactive media wall. Some of Spin's signature dishes are almond-crusted brie with strawberry balsamic coulis and tuna poke with Asian pear, avocado, micro greens, yuzu, and soy.

4. The ultra modern Philippe Boca Raton opened in August with a color palette of black, white, and red. The 9,000-square-foot Chinese eatery with seating for 500 features a private cellar and two private dining rooms for corporate gatherings. Specialty drinks highlight lychee and berry flavors, and popular menu items include Peking duck and chicken satay.

5. Co-owners Costa Grillas and Niko Theodorou opened Egg & Dart in August. The 4,000-square-foot Greek restaurant in the Miami Design District serves Mediterranean cuisine with dishes like jumbo shrimp saganaki with tomato ouzo feta sauce and traditional Greek salad with feta cheese. A private dining room for 40 will be unveiled in December.

6. Saia came onto the B Ocean Fort Lauderdale scene in April. Chef Chenkosorn, formally of the Delano, marries Southeast Asia and Caribbean flavors in his menu. The 2,800-square-foot sushi spot can hold 100 for a seated dinner and 120 for a cocktail reception. The adjacent outdoor pool deck is also available for 50 guests.

7. Edge, Steak & Bar takes over the space formally known as Acqua at the Four Seasons Hotel Miami later this month. The steakhouse, designed by New York firm AvroKo, has two private dining rooms, one for eight and the other for 20. In addition, the outdoor terrace can be used as a pre-function space.

8. High Miami, a 5,000-square-foot nightclub, opened on Ocean Drive on the second floor of the Casanova Suites on the Beach hotel. The nightclub, popular on the French Riviera, made its U.S. debut in mid-September. The 500-square-foot V.I.P. area can hold 50 guests. For larger events, the whole space can be rented out, hosting 150 seated and 200 standing for a reception.

9. Andrew Carmellini is set to open his second outpost of the Dutch this month in time for the start of Art Basel. The restaurant seats 170 indoors and outdoors and features a private dining room overlooking the Grove at the W South Beach. The menu is slightly different from the SoHo branch but still showcases meat, fish, and shellfish dishes.

10. M Bar opened in July in Fort Lauderdale. The 3,000-square-foot restaurant on Las Olas Boulevard serves tapas and is available for a buyouts. The eatery can accommodate 100 seated and 150 for a cocktail reception.
