'Step Up Revolution'
'Step Up Revolution'
For Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment's Step Up Revolution premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on July 17, a flash-mob-style dance troupe comprised of folks from the crowd and the theater took over the arrivals area for a high-energy red carpet experience. Chad Hudson Events coordinated the stunt, with 15/40 Productions on board for permitting, carpet, and fencing.

'The Odd Life of Timothy Green'
On August 6, Disney premiered The Odd Life of Timothy Green at the El Capitan Theater. Guests were asked to bring a new pair of socks to donate to a drive in honor of the movie, and the items were collected in a bin on the arrivals carpet. The drive, running until September 3, will benefit Association of Gospel Rescue Missions, which will distribute the socks to needy families across the U.S. Hanes has pledged to match donations up to 10,000 pairs in support of the project.

In May, Battleship premiered at L.A. Live. Director Peter Berg drove a "shredder" (a vehicle from the movie) down the blue carpet into the premiere, where Rihanna and other stars from the film posed in front of it. The vehicle was constructed for the event by Parker Brothers Concepts. ELS orchestrated the production elements for both the premiere and the party.

'The Amazing Spider-Man'
'The Amazing Spider-Man'
In June, Westwood came alive for the premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man, a major 3-D summer-blockbuster-in-the-making that closed streets and drew a horde of screaming fans. Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution's senior vice president Alison Bossert oversaw the event, tapping 15/40 Productions for the production and design. The evening began with an arrivals area that stretched over a closed Broxton Avenue, with a 16- by 22-foot metal treatment over the red carpet the resembled a stylized web.

'Total Recall'
'Total Recall'
On August 1, Total Recall premiered at Grauman's Chinese Theatre with a splashy, props-heavy arrivals setup overseen by Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution senior vice president of special events Alison Bossert and produced by 15/40 Productions. The arrivals-carpet design incorporated a hovercraft from the film as well as four models dressed in costume as "New Asian Federal Police Officers" positioned on raised platforms along the step-and-repeat wall as if to stand guard over the pomp. The backdrop walls incorporated a pattern seen in the design of a setting in the film known as "the Fall," a transport system that runs through the middle of the planet connecting the two habitable areas left on Earth and where the final battle scene of the movie plays out. The black carpet also bore an inlaid logo of the movie's title.

In May, three separate theaters played host to the premiere screening of Men in Black 3 in New York. At the Ziegfeld, talent and studio execs arrived on a black-and-white carpet that bore a logo inset of the movie's name. 15/40 oversaw the production.

At Cisco Live in San Francisco in May, attendees reclined on beanbag gaming chairs in the halls of the Moscone Center to watch keynotes, do work, and take breaks. Organizers said they chose this style chair as an "edgier but still functional" alternative to traditional beanbags.
