Much like the set decorators for the TV show, Invision Events spent time researching Prohibition-era Atlantic City to create historically appropriate scenery for the New York premiere party. One example of this was the Rink Bar's 40-foot-long bar, which was resurfaced with vintage posters from the storefronts that lined the boardwalk during the 1920s.

Absolut launched a 2011 limited edition bottle on December 1 at Toronto’s TIFF Bell Lightbox. The step-and-repeat employed shelves holding dozens of the new bottles.

For a dandy-themed graduation party in Hollywood, Canvas & Canopy designed a dessert buffet that eschewed the twee look in favor of a sophisticated display of treats on cake stands made from vintage candlesticks and shelves built using industrial pipes.

An interactive Twitter installation took up a seminar room of the Weston Family Learning Centre. Tweets were projected onto screens and the largest screen was interactive. As guests approached the screen, bubbles moved to form silhouettes.

In July at Travel & Leisure’s annual World’s Best Awards in New York, sponsor Patrón displayed a sleek wall that housed five tanks of Patrón-based cocktails from which guests could pour their own drinks.

'Washingtonian' Bride & Groom Unveiled Event

Monochrome weddings are getting an updated twist lately, as seen in the table and setup by Edge Floral Event Designers. Think understated—even rustic—furnishings that allow details like flowers and wallpaper to pop without looking overdone.

To separate the perimeter—where cocktails were held—from the dinner area for the event's 2010 iteration, the team hung large lampshades from the ceiling. The pieces measured about two feet high and 22 inches in diameter, and their black and white embellishments were replicated in a pattern projected on the floors. The event again took place at the New York Public Library, with Bakula Design overseeing decor.
