The Collision conference took place at the World Market Center, where multiple speaker stages filled two large pavilions.

Exhibits from about 1,200 start-ups crowded into the two massive pavilions, where entrepreneurs and investors connected.

The Breakthrough Stage, as other decor in the event, included elements of raw wood. Pigeonly C.E.O. Frederick Hutson—known for breaking through barriers to launch his company as an ex-con—talked start-up strategy for a standing-room crowd on the event's second day.

Underscoring the event's tech content, attendees were required to engage with the conference's mobile app.

In line with the casual nature of the event, food trucks lined the pathway between the two pavilions that housed the conference.
