The crowning jewel of the evening's decor, the 30-foot-high floriated centerpiece created by gala designer Raul Avila and his army of staffers evoked the evening’s theme. The structure was inspired by a jeweled tiara, 'the most striking component of the Pope's ensemble,' said Avila, that once belonged to Pope Pius IX.

The Television Academy's official after-party, held at the L.A. Live Event Deck after the Primetime Emmys telecast, drew more than 4,000 winners, nominees, and members of the entertainment industry. For their 20th year designing and producing the event, Cheryl Cecchetto and her team at Sequoia Productions created a starry-night effect, using 28,000 individual LED lights suspended from the ceiling. Furniture, table linens, florals, and other decor came in shades of blue, gold and silver metallics, and white.  The same decor was used for the Creative Arts Emmys dinners, which were held on September 8 and 9.

The evening’s decor was inspired by the new electric car, with futuristic blue lighting and neon touches. Anchor Street Collective handled design and production.

Working with Fox's Bob Stillo, Russell Harris Event Group produced the Fox Emmy party at Soleto Trattoria and Pizzaria in Los Angeles last September. The Russell Harris team described the event as having a "Restoration Hardware-esque" look, with design by Thomas Ford. A Ford-designed sculpture used old-fashioned sign letters, metal numbers, and plexiglass signage to represent the three hosting networks: Fox Broadcasting, 20th Century Fox, and the FX channel.
