#1 Fashion Industry Event (new to the list)
Since 1969, San Francisco’s fashion set has flocked to the League to Save Lake Tahoe’s al fresco luncheon and fashion show. Saks Fifth Avenue sponsors the event—set on the north side of the lake—which showcases Oscar de la Renta’s resort collection. Next: August 6, 2016
#2 Fashion Industry Event
Designers, fashion press, store owners, and stylish locals fill the front row at this show to catch a glimpse of the BFA and MFA students’ avant-garde collections. But the runway isn’t the only attraction: Designers such as Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Angela and Margherita Missoni, and Max Azria announce scholarships and awards at the event. #3 Fashion Industry Event
The capstone show for the school’s graduating fashion designers features unique collections juried by industry professionals. Alumni have gone on to work at companies such as John Varvatos, J. Crew/Madewell, Ralph Lauren, and Badgley Mischka. Next: Spring 2017
#4 Fashion Industry Event (new to the list)
The Drever Family Foundation's annual fashion show and fund-raiser combines over-the-top decorations, celebrity appearances, and a runway show to benefit children in underprivileged communities. At the 2016 event, actress Sharon Stone led 350 guests in raising $330,000 for Planet Hope. Next: Spring 2017
