1. Canadian Marketing Association Awards

In 2018, the association’s major annual event boasted the highest attendance in 10 years, with 1,200 of the country’s best marketers and their clients returning to the Westin Harbour Castle for the gala and dance party. This year’s event, which returned to the Carlu, ended with a jubilant Raptors viewing party the night they became N.B.A. champs. BBDO Toronto won Best of Show for “The Paralympic Network,” and Cossette won Design Best of Show on behalf of the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. Production studio Thinkingbox was the patron sponsor. Next: Spring 2020

3. Strategy's Agency of the Year Awards

The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Koerner Hall was the venue for the 2018 Agency of the Year Awards, where Cossette won big for the third year in a row, taking top honors for work with McDonald’s, SickKids, Via Rail, and Egg Farmers of Canada. Next: October 30, 2019

4. Canadian Public Relations Society Toronto A.C.E. Awards

A record 111 awards were conferred at the 2019 Achieving Communications Excellence gala ceremony, which drew about 300 guests to the Carlu. DDB Public Relations/DDB Canada took home the trophy for Best PR Campaign of the Year for its memorable work on Digital Poppy Launch. Next: Spring 2020

5. Media Innovation Awards

Strategy magazine, Canada’s national marketing and media publication, brought the 20th edition of the event to the Carlu in 2018. Awards were given to 20 creative and 27 media agencies, and Touché won best in show. Changes for this year’s event include a dedicated public service stream and a category for best use of real-time data. Next: November 28, 2019

6. Crystals Awards

The radio creative awards drew 180 guests to the TIFF Bell Lightbox, where veteran radio personality Maie Pauts served as the host. Best in Show went to lg2 for their entry “Football” for Quebec’s Farnham Ale and Lager. Bell Media Radio Sales, Canadian Broadcast Sales, and Target Broadcast Sales were presenters. Next: Spring 2020
