Serenity Now! Meditation in Meetings

Three venues get in on the latest trend in meetings: meditation and mindfulness. JW Marriott Chicago The hotel keeps guided meditation specialist Bret Gornik on staff as part of its Fit Meetings program to provide meditation exercises for corporate groups ranging from eight to 150 people. Depending on where meeting profs insert his signature Meditative Breaks, it can help attendees can relax their minds, stave off mental fatigue, or increase engagement through breathing exercises and selective mantras. The Inn at Serenbe Twenty-five minutes south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the pastures and forests of Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, is idyllic Serenbe. The resort is a utopia of organic farm-fresh food, nature surrounds and innovative community planning that has been featured on CBS’ “Sunday Morning.” Jeny Mathis, owner of Zoetic, a company that organizes yoga workshops and meditation experiences for the property, also leads several mindfulness and meditation activities for corporate retreats (photo above) using the property’s three new conference rooms or the open-air lake pavilion for groups of up to 400. Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Copenhagen During MPI's European Meetings & Events Conference 2016 in the capital of Denmark, a session titled “How to Achieve Peak Mental Strength With Mindfulness” was on the education lineup. The class allowed other meeting professionals to become acquainted with mental training, breathing techniques and mindfulness, tools that help prevent stress and improve performance.
