On April 27, the Brooklyn Museum will host its Brooklyn ball (the institution's biggest fund-raiser), with the added bonus of an after-party—a first for the event. The night will have a North African look, with decor from MME Entertainment that includes richly colored linens and jewel-toned dinnerware, as well as North African music. Catering by Restaurant Associates will serve a menu including filet of beef, braised beef short ribs in merlot sauce, and a spring tart. Tickets to the ball start at $500, while admission solely to the inaugural after-party features a lower cost, starting at $75; DJ Reborn will entertain after-party guests with a mix of soul, hip-hop, reggae, and Afrobeat music. Christie's will provide its services for live and silent auctions.
