Newseum C.E.O. Charles Overby recently announced that the 250,000-square-foot museum complex will be opening later than its intended date of October 15. "Given the complexities of the building and the enormous interactivity of its displays, once we're physically in the building, we will need several months to fully test the technology before opening for use by the public," Overby said in a press release, adding that a new opening date is expected to be announced in the early fall.

In addition to the museum space, the Newseum will also house the upscale Wolfgang Puck restaurant the Source (set to open in early October), as well as administrative offices, a bilevel conference center, and 135 rental apartments. Far-out events are currently being booked in the venue's multiple event spaces.
