Will Celebrities Stay Away From Fashion Week?

When Fashion Week begins in two weeks, it may be low on celebrity attendees. Page Six reports that producers and PR reps are getting nervous about the lack photo-friendly faces booked for the front row. There are several possible explanations: MTV's Video Music Awards are in Las Vegas on Sunday, September 9, and the Emmys are in Los Angeles a week later. Stars are developing individual relationships with designers rather than attending a host of shows, says Alison Brod. And designers are fed up with celebrities taking the spotlight away from the clothes. But Leslie Stevens of LaForce & Stevens isn't worried yet. "We are producing seven shows and we haven't started to go in full force yet," she said.
