Following the SAG Awards dinner ceremony at the Shrine, guests moved to the traditionally lavish after-party just steps away Sunday night. The SAG Gala, hosted by People magazine and the Entertainment Industry Foundation, took over a sprawling, 100-foot-long tent. Time Inc.'s Cyd Wilson oversaw the event, which Event Eleven produced again this year, liaising with SAG Awards producer Kathy Connell and award committee members.
The event was all about light and texture. Rich chocolate-brown walls were offset by louvered walls adorned in mirrored Plexiglas. The room was lit from within in such a way as to provide sparkling reflections from all angles. The ceiling design was a massive zigzag, spanning the entire length of the tent, and was backlit to give the room a purple glow. Soft, vanilla-colored sofas and ottomans contrasted the round, black tables and bronze arch lamps at the seating areas. Flowers in metallic vases contributed to a look of balance between light and darkness, angles and curves, and space and intimacy.
DJ Michelle Pesce spun for the crowd, and the band Impulse (booked through West Coast Music) also entertained—the same entertainment pairing Time Inc. used for its splashy In Style Golden Globes party.
The crowd of A-listers dined on food from Tom Byrne of La Cuisine, sipping on Voss Water, Grey Goose Vodka, and Apothic Wine. L’Oréal Paris—a staple on the award-season circuit—provided touch-ups and product samples. Guests left with a coveted bag filled with items from the likes of Drybar, L'Oréal Paris, and Privé Salon.
