Tim Burton's Take on Sweeney Todd

Adapting a Stephen Sondheim classic, Tim Burton attends the musical tale of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, which opens nationwide tomorrow. Johnny Depp takes on the title role, and Helena Bonham Carter plays the meat-pie mistress Mrs. Lovett. Expect Burton’s trademark darkness in this story of a barber who vows revenge after suffering false imprisonment and the demise of his wife and daughter at the hands of an evil judge. Plus, there’s cannibalism! Rounding out the cast are Alan Rickman as Judge Turpin and Sacha Baron Cohen as the flamboyant rival barber Signor Adolfo Pirelli.
