One of the conference's many offshoot events is a cocktail party hosted by the New York-based Joint Interest Group (and sponsored by Cartier, Level Vodka, and Cadillac) tonight at Park at Fourteenth.
Next week, roughly 8,000 more African-American professionals and leaders will head to D.C. for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s annual meeting, running from September 24 to 27 at the convention center. From October 10 to 13, about 7,400 international officials and media members will descend upon the city to discuss financial issues and the economy at the Boards of Governors Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group. The meetings will take over the World Bank and IMF campuses, located just south of Dupont Circle.
Two medical-related meetings are also on tap for October. The Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Annual Meeting for 12,000 runs from October 13 to 15, and the American Society for Microbiology and the Infectious Disease Society of America are hosting a joint 12,000-person meeting from October 25 to 28.
As usual, the Association of the U.S. Army’s annual meeting will be one of the season’s largest events, drawing 20,000 soldiers, reserve officers, family members, and civilians from October 6 to 8 to the convention center.
