For a child-friendly snack, sushi rice “soldiers” are made with fresh salmon and tuna sashimi and garnished with edamame. The dish was created by DNA Events Inc. in Los Angeles.

32nd Annual Rammy Awards Gala

This year, Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington moved its June 22 event to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. At food stations sponsored by Chile, dishes included ceviche and marinated shrimp with avocado pebre. Coordinating with the food, the chalkboard centerpiece depicted scenes of the country's harbors and fishing boats.

Art Institute of Chicago's Woman's Board and Board of Trustees 'Surrealistically Chic' Gala

Magritte: Mystery of the Ordinary, 1926-1938 opened recently at the Art Institute of Chicago. To celebrate the exhibition, the museum gave its June 20 gala a “Surrealistically Chic” theme. In a nod to the artist's Belgian heritage, mixologist Adam Seger created Blanche de Brussels Belgian Ale sorbet.

Kellogg's dished up thousands of bowls of cereal to hungry New Yorkers at a free pop-up restaurant June 24 to 27 that served only cereal and milk. The Roots performed a free concert that included a cover of the G. Love & Special Sauce song "Milk and Cereal," and guests could record their own version of the song in a private karaoke booth.
