Former American Red Cross manager of events and conferences Leslie Zeck has moved on, now heading up the meetings and conventions department at the American Council of Engineering Companies, an organization that represents the top engineering firms in the country. In her new role as director, Zeck will oversee two annual meetings for 2,000 people each—one taking place in Washington every April, the other a roving fall conference being held in Montreal next year. Zeck will also produce about 50 training sessions and meetings throughout the year, to be held throughout North America.
When now-disgraced former I.R.S. commissioner Mark Everson took over as president and C.E.O. of the American Red Cross in May, he quickly cleaned house, axing most senior-level staffers, including Zeck. Since Zeck's dismissal, former senior associate of events and conferences Emily Farwig has been acting as interim manager of the department.
Last week, the American Red Cross issued a statement announcing that Everson had resigned due to a "personal relationship with a subordinate employee" that had come to light.
