* INCOMING *

1. UPFRONT WEEK BEGINS: From senior editor Anna Sekula in New York: "Today marks the start of Upfront Week, the frenzy of advertiser-wooing presentations from the broadcast networks for media buyers. NBC is once again leading the pack—in timing anyway—returning to the Hilton Hotel for a late morning gathering, after which the crowd of ad men (and women) will head to the Beacon Theater for Fox's pitch and then Central Park's Wollman Rink for the lively after-party. On Tuesday afternoon, ABC will be back at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, and although the network is staying mum on the details, Jimmy Kimmel is expected to hit the stage for some comic banter.

CBS and the CW will finish the week, with CBS at Carnegie Hall on Wednesday afternoon and the CW holding court at Madison Square Garden on Thursday morning. Also part of the fray this year are events from smaller networks, including the Discovery en Espanol's breakfast at the Four Seasons on Wednesday morning, a joint presentation for TBS and TNT at the Hammerstein Ballroom also on Wednesday, and Univision at the New Amsterdam Theater on Thursday afternoon."

2. MIAMI'S FLASH IS BACK: The Daily looks at the return of Miami's over-the-top real estate parties: "The long period of austerity was broken this year, when the owners of a luxury high-rise condominium building called Mint on the Miami River decided to channel the old days, employing some of the old glitz to move units to 300 guests."

Highlights: "a dozen models dressed in lipstick-red cocktail dresses who formed a path to the elevator…other models performed yoga behind glass walls…More than 50 stories above the party, stuntmen donning 100-foot, red satin capes rappelled down the building’s facade."

3. GET A STAR ON BOARD: NYT on nonprofits wooing famous faces to go beyond event appearances to longer-term relationships as board members: "Behind the interest in recruiting celebrities to boards is a general sense that arts organizations now have to work harder than ever, both to raise money and to get the attention of a public that is overwhelmed with entertainment options, many of them a mere touch-screen click away."

4. THE POST-WEDDING PARTY: Also in yesterdays' NYT: Charles and Bonnie Bronfman are marking their divorce with a cocktail party for 100 friends, with engraved invitations and "an effusive statement about the couple’s affection for each other."

WASHINGTON: New restaurant Sax had guests at its opening parties "titillated—or horrified—by a series of murals and paintings depicting famous folk as lurid, sex-tinged caricatures," says the Reliable Source.
