4. MARKETING TO WOMEN: Brands like Chevrolet and Harley-Davidson are learning how to talk to women by creating campaigns that adhere to mothers, independent women, and confident female consumers aged 55 to 64 years old. Adweek: "As women fuel the growth of social media—just witness the sudden explosion of scrapbooking site Pinterest—marketers are getting smarter about using that media to reach female consumers beyond just the most readily available demographic stats."

5. SITE PROBLEMS: As presidential candidates like Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are taking their campaigning on the road, some are struggling to find the right venue for appearances. The New York Times: "Other campaigns have struggled to simply organize events. Mr. Santorum recently held a rally in almost complete darkness, giving his face a ghoulish hue. And a lapse in communications between Newt Gingrich's national and local staffs caused him to cancel a meeting with Gov. Brian Sandoval of Nevada, a popular Republican who was reportedly embarrassed by the episode."

6. RESTAURANT EVALUATIONS: Andrew Friedman, founder and editor of Toqueland, looks at getting rid of the star rating system for restaurant reviews. "For what it's worth, and I think it's worth quite a bit, a great many chefs have long been troubled, or even angered, by the star system. Some don't understand why restaurants are evaluated in such a stark way when movies, theater, art, and television are not." The Huffington Post:
