Earlier this year, Noelle Provencial had an idea for a new event. She was already managing all of Groupon’s experiential marketing and events in North America, including a 1,500-guest hangover brunch at South by Southwest and holiday parties for more than 3,000 employees. But she had an idea for a paid event for customers of the daily-deal Web site—an "all-inclusive urban adventure."  She pitched it to Groupon C.E.O. Andrew Mason, he liked it, and in July she pulled off Camp Groupon, drawing about 500 to purchase the $749 package for experiences like a Counting Crows concert, skydiving, and nightly happy hours.

Provencial will talk about how she presented her idea to Mason and then executed the large event at the Event Innovation Forum, a new conference held at the BizBash IdeaFest in New York on October 24. She will also speak at the BizBash IdeaFest in Chicago on November 14.

When Provencial made our list of the most innovative people in events earlier this year, she recorded this video interview, which also gives a preview of her presentation.

More about the Event Innovation Forum—including the full schedule of speakers and topics, plus registration information—is here.
