September 11, 2014: Changes for Today’s 9/11 Events, Fashion Rocks Returns to Fashion Week, Golf Courses Decline Visit From President Obama

1. CHANGES FOR TODAY’S 9/11 EVENTS: For the first time, the World Trade Center site will be open to the public on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. 2. FASHION ROCKS RETURNS TO FASHION WEEK: After a five-year break the music-meets-fashion spectacle Fashion Rocks returned Tuesday, bringing the show to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Crowd favorite Jennifer Lopez along with Usher, Miranda Lambert, and other performers entertained the crowd in daring fashions. And in the case of Justin Bieber, performed a striptease. Hollywood Reporter: “The singer, alongside model Lara Stone, ushered in the Calvin Klein fashion show by stripping down to his boxers, or his 'Calvins.' Though he was welcomed by an overwhelming slew of boos from the audience, he started flexing, and the high-pitched screams drowned out the haters.” http://bit.ly/1unYN4X

3. GOLF CLUBS DECLINE VISIT FROM PRESIDENT OBAMA: Several Westchester, New York, golf clubs declined to give President Obama a tee time over Memorial Day weekend when he was in town for fund-raising events and a wedding. NBC 4 New York: “The Trump National Golf Club, the Winged Foot and Willow Ridge were among some of the elite courses that rebuffed the president's request to tee off there, according to several sources who were told about the president's advance team's calls to the club managers. Club managers apparently did not want to inconvenience their high-powered and high-paying members over Labor Day weekend by shutting down their courses to accommodate the president.” http://bit.ly/1rEvAhi
