Officially launching in January, the Event Leadership Institute will offer a range of classes taught by event industry experts. The organization, which is co-owned by BizBash, was created by Howard Givner, founder of Paint the Town Red (now Global Events Group).

ELI will host live events and online classes on topics including event strategy and ROI, lighting and design, legal and insurance issues, fund-raising, and entrepreneurship. On-demand sessions include 30- to 90-minute classes that can be broken down into shorter segments. The Maverick Series, which is free, features interviews with senior industry leaders speaking on a range of topics.

“The event industry has exploded in the past 15 years, and the quantity, quality, and availability of education has simply not caught up with this demand,” Givner said in a press release. â€śOur goal is to deliver outstanding training people can access wherever they’re located, whenever they need it, with no preconditions. People are welcome to take a full suite of our classes on production technology, for example, or they can just take the class on teleprompters, if that’s their immediate need.”

Industry leaders interested in participating as instructors can contact the institute at [email protected].
