* INCOMING *
1. REMEMBERING EVELYN LAUDER: The Estee Lauder executive passed away on Saturday. As the founder of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which has raised more than $350 million, she was the driving force behind a major fund-raiser, and she was also a regular on the New York benefit scene—as an attendee, board member, and honoree.
WWD: "Almost 1,500 people filed into Central Synagogue [in New York] Monday for a private funeral service recalling the triumphant life of Evelyn Lauder…The entire event was planned by Evelyn Lauder before her death, including the musical selections played during the service. A public memorial service will be held in January, and the Empire State Building was lit pink Monday night in her memory."

A remembrance from Allure: "[Editor in chief Linda] Wells described how Lauder took to the dance floor during a recent industry charity event, where the Black Eyed Peas were performing. As with so many other things, Lauder led the way and others followed: 'She was the first one to get up and dance in the aisles,' Wells said. 'She did this fantastic kind of Beyoncé move and pretty soon the rest of the room was on their feet.'"

AUTO SHOW PREVIEW: Vanity Fair picked its five most anticipated parties surrounding the Los Angeles Auto Show, which is open to the public Friday to November 27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Making the list: Hyundai, BMW, Rolls-Royce, Porsche, Bentley. A preview: "BMW is also a proud sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Committee, so when it has us to dinner at a Michelin-star-awarded restaurant in the basement of Frank Gehry’s Walt Disney Concert Hall, we will not only shovel in local seasonal ingredients, artisanal cheeses, exotic caviars, and fine wines but also get to kneel at the skin-tight lycra bootie of Gold Medal Winter Decathlete Bryan Clay and hear him talk about how Bimmers will prevent gridlock at the 2012 London Games."

4. TOP FASHION BRANDS IN SOCIAL: As marketers experiment with social media platforms as channels to communicate with consumers, WWD looks at which brands are using which tools the most effectively. "Shenan Reed, co-founder and chief media officer of Morpheus Media, a Createthe Group company, believes that 'transmedia storytelling'—or using the various social media platforms to tell a story in a way that’s fitting for each medium—is paramount to a retailer’s digital strategy." Among the retail brands highlighted: Burberry (for overall performance), Bergdorf Goodman and Gucci (for multiplatform versatility), and Net-a-porter, Tory Burch, and Kate Spade (for editorial content).
